Location of our villas
Holiday villas on the northern Costa Brava
The holiday villas of BONVIDA are located on the northern Costa Brava, mainly in and around the Bay of Roses and the Alt Empordà. A beautiful part of Catalonia where the Mediterranean Sea, long sandy beaches, charming coastal towns, and the green hinterland are surprisingly close together.
Many of our holiday villas are located close to the coast, while others are a short drive from the sea. This way, you combine the best of both worlds: the tranquility, space, and privacy of your own villa and the beaches and vibrancy of the Costa Brava within reach.
The Bay of Roses forms the heart of the area. Here you will find well-known coastal towns such as Roses with Santa Margarida, Empuriabrava, and L'Escala. You will find kilometers of beaches, cozy boulevards, restaurants, harbors, and plenty of opportunities for water sports and relaxation.
BONVIDA itself is also located in the middle of this region. Our holiday office is located in Empuriabrava, centrally on the Bay of Roses and close to many of our holiday villas. So, during your stay, we are always nearby.
The Bay of Roses: the heart of our region
The beautiful Bay of Roses is one of the most famous areas of the northern Costa Brava. The wide bay stretches along a large part of the coast and is surrounded by beaches, nature reserves, and various popular holiday destinations.
On the north side is Roses, with the adjacent district Santa Margarida. Here you will find long sandy beaches, a boulevard, restaurants, shops, and a cozy harbor.
Further along the bay is Empuriabrava, known for its unique network of navigable canals, the marina, and the wide sandy beach. Empuriabrava is also an ideal central base to explore both the coast and the inland.
On the south side of the bay is L'Escala, a charming coastal town with beautiful beaches, a historic center, cozy restaurants, and the famous Greek-Roman ruins of Empúries.
Because these coastal towns are relatively close to each other, you can easily discover different beaches and places during your holiday.
Alt Empordà: where coast and inland meet
The Bay of Roses is located in the Alt Empordà, one of the most beautiful and versatile regions of Catalonia. Here, the coast and inland almost naturally merge into one another.
From the beaches, you can drive in a short time between vineyards, olive groves, and authentic Catalan villages. And from our quieter holiday villas in the green hinterland, you can quickly find yourself with your feet in the sand again.
That's what makes the location so special. You don't have to choose between a villa on the Costa Brava or peace and space in the inland. Here you can combine both.
Start the day quietly by your own pool, then drive to the beach, have lunch by the sea, and return to the privacy of your holiday villa at the end of the afternoon.
Discover the northern Costa Brava
From the Bay of Roses, you can easily discover more of the northern Costa Brava.
North of Roses begins the impressive landscape of Cap de Creus. Here the coast changes, and the long sandy beaches gradually give way to rocky bays, small beaches, and spectacular views over the Mediterranean Sea.
For example, visit Cadaqués, one of the most famous places on the Costa Brava, with white houses, narrow streets, and a unique location by the sea.
El Port de la Selva and Llançà are also beautiful destinations for a day out. You will find beaches, harbors, restaurants, and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere.
This variety is what makes the northern Costa Brava so special: from the wide sandy beaches of the Bay of Roses to the rugged coast and hidden bays around Cap de Creus.
Authentic villages just behind the coast
You only have to drive a short distance from the coast to discover a completely different side of the Costa Brava.
The landscape of the Alt Empordà is characterized by vineyards, olive groves, fields, and small Catalan villages. Here you can still find plenty of tranquility and the authentic character of the region.
Visit, for example, Peralada, with its historic center and impressive castle, or discover one of the many smaller villages scattered throughout the landscape.
A little further inland is the medieval Besalú, known for its historic stone bridge and beautiful old center.
The relatively short distances make it easy to combine a morning by the sea with an afternoon in the inland.
Figueres and Girona within reach
For culture, shopping, or a day in the city, the location of our holiday villas is also ideal.
Figueres is centrally located in the Alt Empordà and is best known as the birthplace of Salvador Dalí. The famous Teatre-Museu Dalí is one of the region's main attractions. In addition, Figueres has a lively center with shops, terraces, restaurants, and the well-known Rambla.
Further south is Girona, one of the most beautiful cities in Catalonia. Walk along the colorful houses on the Onyar River, discover the old Jewish quarter, visit the imposing cathedral, and walk along the historic city walls.
A day trip to Barcelona is also possible. From the Alt Empordà, the Catalan capital is accessible by both car and train.
Peace and space at Torremirona Golf & Spa Resort
Some of our holiday villas are located at the beautiful Torremirona Golf & Spa Resort near Navata. The resort is situated in the green landscape of the Alt Empordà, a short distance from Figueres and within comfortable driving distance of the coast.
Here you can enjoy plenty of peace, space, and privacy, with beautiful views over the surrounding landscape and towards the Pyrenees.
At the same time, the beaches of the Bay of Roses, Empuriabrava, Roses, and L'Escala remain easily accessible. So you can stay wonderfully quiet without being far from the sea and the vibrancy of the coast.
And of course, you don't have to be a golfer to enjoy this special location.
Centrally located and easily accessible
The northern Costa Brava is not only beautiful but also easily accessible from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.
Are you coming by plane? Girona Airport is about a 30 to 40-minute drive from most holiday villas. Perpignan Airport in southern France and Barcelona-El Prat Airport are also good alternatives.
Are you traveling by car? As soon as you cross the Spanish border from France, you will almost immediately enter the Alt Empordà. Via Figueres, you can easily reach the various locations of our holiday villas.
You can find more information about your trip on our pages Nearest airports, Traveling by car, and Car rental.

We know this region inside and out and are ourselves located where our guests spend their holidays. Our holiday office is located in the center of Empuriabrava, right in the area around the Bay of Roses.
During your stay, you can come here with questions, for information about the area, or if you need anything. So you not only have a holiday villa on the Costa Brava but also your point of contact nearby.
